Hillary Clinton is annoying the crap out of me
And I do not appear to be the only one.
For the love of all that is holy, woman, quit already. Also, Pennsylvania voters who “knew” Obama would win the nomination but decided to vote for Hillary anyway… why? Why? To prolong the process? To provide another eight weeks of back and forth bickering? To leave a finely-picked over carcass for John McCain?
I simply do not understand people.
Linkage
Yeah, yeah, 3BT is coming eventually. In the meantime:
The NY Times calls out Clinton’s aggressively negative campaign as damaging “to her, her opponent, her party and the 2008 election”, Maureen Dowd bemoans Obama’s inability to close out Clinton, Jonathan Chait defends Obama against the “liberal elitist” label (although not as well as Jon Stewart, who pointed out that if someone is taking on a job that may one day lead to his face being carved on a mountain, he’d better be a cut above the average American), and David Barstow has a stunning expose, the culmination of two years of work and a lawsuit against the DoD, about what actually happened at Gitmo.
Three Beautiful Things Thursday: Postponed edition
Coming tomorrow because a) my carpal tunnel has been acting up and b) some unexpected work blindsided me this evening. I know what I want to say, though, so… tomorrow.
In other news, lemon yogurt cake is even yummier when you actually top it with the lemon/sugar syrup, but I think if I were going to adapt it into muffins, I’d leave the syrup off. And much as I love the lemon/blackberry (blueberries are currently expensive, blackberries are currently on sale, you do the math), the next time I make it, I think I’m trying the orange/chocolate combination.
Somebody has decided to ruin Screen on the Green
I suppose I should have seen it coming when the festival sponsor went from TCM to the new Peachtree TV network, but Screen on the Green is supposed to be old classic movies, not Big Momma’s House.
Seriously, I’m so disappointed. There’s not a single movie on this list that makes me want to carve out the date on my calendar, unlike Casablanca last year, Breakfast at Tiffany’s the year before, and Barefoot in the Park, The Sound of Music, and The Maltese Falcon in the years before that. If I wanted to see Chicago outdoors, I’d go to one of Star 94′s Movies Under the Stars promotions. Screen on the Green is supposed to be old timey classics, the kind of movie that would get an oblique reference on Gilmore Girls and wouldn’t necessarily attract the teeny-bopper crowd.
Because I just love SotG so much, I’m still planning to go (for now). Here’s the schedule for any Atlantans who are interested.
I am so excited to have my fridge back I just want to hug it
Obviously, it doesn’t take much to make me happy.
On locked posts
I’ve locked the previous post because it seems wrong to devote several paragraphs to my hair if I generally wear hijab in public. Please email me if you’d like to read it. For the record, this one’s probably only open to girls, though.
And speaking of locked posts: I’ve had a couple people tell me, “I figured if you wanted me to read it, you’d email me the password.” So we’re clear — I don’t usually lock posts to keep regular readers out but instead because I don’t want Random Guy Who Arrives By Google Search (or Creepy Stalker Who Arrives By Google Search) to read them. If you’re a regular, and you’d like to read a locked post — please email me.
